A boiler replacement in an occupied building is a planning job as much as a plumbing one. Changeovers are phased so the building keeps heat and hot water through the work, and out of hours and weekend programmes are normal rather than an extra. On the compliance side the installation is notified through Gas Safe, the flue and ventilation are designed to the current standards, and the commissioning figures are recorded so the plant can be proved against them at every future service. Correctly sized condensing plant with proper controls typically takes a meaningful bite out of the annual gas bill, and the commissioning report gives a baseline to measure that against.
