1. Introduction

These terms and conditions outline the rules for using Better Gas services and detail what you can expect from us, as well as your rights and responsibilities.

2. Applicability

Please read these terms before using our services, as your usage implies agreement. Additionally, you agree to our Terms of Use, Privacy, and Cookie policies. Updates typically occur with new services, changes in service provision, or legal compliance requirements.

3. Definition of “Services”

Our services cover various trades including Plumbing, Heating, Drains, Bathrooms, and Electrics. They encompass enquiries, estimates, project work, installations, repairs, emergency callouts, servicing, and guarantees.

4. Terminology

In these terms:

  • “Better Gas” refers to Better Gas Limited.
  • “You” refers to the customer.
  • “Tradesperson” refers to our appointed representative(s) for work.

We retain the right to refuse work and designate tradespeople.

5. Hourly Rate Work

Charges include labour (time spent by the tradesperson) and materials, based on current hourly rates and trade purchase prices. Charges exclude non-work time like lunch breaks and are subject to VAT unless zero-rated.

6. Fixed Price Work

Fixed Price Work includes firm costs for labour & materials, usually within 10% over the equivalent hourly rate cost. Estimates shouldn’t exceed actual time by more than 20%, except in specific circumstances outlined in the terms.

7. Offers & Incentives

We periodically offer promotions and incentives, subject to specific terms & conditions. This includes computer-aided design (CAD) conceptual artwork for bathrooms.

8. Material Collection

We may charge for collecting non-stock items, keeping collection time within 45 minutes.

9. Invoices & Payment

Upon agreeing to estimated or Pre booked work, a 50% deposit is payable immediately. Payment upon completion is due on receipt. Interest accrues on unpaid invoices.

10. Timekeeping

We endeavour to adhere to agreed work schedules. We aren’t liable for non-attendance or late attendance of tradespeople, or for late material delivery due to causes beyond our control.

11. Cancellation

Notify us by the end of the working day before the scheduled booking to avoid charges for cancellations. Immediate cancellations may incur costs for time and materials.

12. Satisfaction

We aim to provide professional service. If you’re dissatisfied after work completion, notify us within 12 months for remedial action.

13. Guarantee

We provide a 12-month guarantee on labour, excluding misuse/negligence. Guarantees are void if work is tampered with or materials are not supplied by us.

14. Liability

We rectify guaranteed work and are not liable for damages resulting from any un guaranteed work or recommended work that isn’t carried out.

15. Title to Goods

Goods remain our property until fully paid for by you. We reserve the right to retake, sell, or deal with goods not fully paid for.

16. General: Terms & Conditions.

These terms prevail over any conflicting terms provided by you. By entering a contract, you agree to waive the application of any other terms. These terms are governed by English law and subject to English jurisdiction.
